Default Concept class: The Shapeshifter

Shapeshifter

The usual Druid/Shaman with a few summoning and potion skills and shapeshifting as a staple.

BECKONING MAGIC No inherent effect. Skills related to Beckoning magic become more effective
with higher Beckoning magic.

PLANT MAGIC No inherent effect. Skills related to Plant magic become more effective
with higher Plant magic.

ANIMAL MAGIC No inherent effect. Skills related to Animal magic become more effective
with higher Animal magic.

SHAPESHIFTING Skills related to Shapeshifting become more effective with higher Shapeshifting.
(Primary) Increases your Maximum health in Wolf form by 2% per attribute point.
Increases your Armor in Bear form by 3% per attribute point and Movement
and Attack speed as well as Critical hit chance in Jaguar form by 1% per attribute point.


Base health and armor in forms = normal equipment and base values

Interesting, but I think you should merge this with the horribly named demonologist and give rewards for changing forms in the midst of battle.

Nicely Detail, and wonderfully conceive. Can see you put lots work and effort into it, and it shows. A shapshift druid, while not really original, is still a pretty popular concept class, and it is good to see that you go one extra step in building this concept more than just few sentences.

Now the good words are done.. Since I also wrote a Druid-type CC befoe, so I will be extra harsh in review. There are actually few things very similar of this and what I did befoe (animal spirit, plants, beast-shift).

-Few skills are a bit too overpowering. Like this one:

At 15 second recharge, this skill seem like a bargin. But number can always be fix.

-I am guessing the summon spirit in the Beckon attribute will help you and attack? If so, would also need tone down its passive team effects. Also so it would not be clone of the ritualist.

-Plant magic seem fine.

-I don't like Animal Magic too much.. seem a bit like a filler. Most of its effect are not very unique, being the usual hex and enchantment that could get from Monk or Necro or Mes.

-One thing I didn't catch is what is the duration of shapeshift? Personally I like it to have a limited duration (12 to 24 second or so, and weak when changing back), and hope it won't be a map-lasting change. While spliting the shapeshift into 3 type, with skills for each is good, but I think for the limitation of the skills, would be better if consolidate all the beast-skill into one. So that it would be universal to all beast-forms. Also whats the strong point and the weakness of such beastal shift (since functionally, seem same as a warrior... so why not just play as a warrior?)

-Hope to see addtional unique game playing mechanic to make it more stand out and better tie together.

Yeah, like I said, you've seen one Druid/Shaman/Shapeshifter, you've seen them all.

About the detail. I only hope I had the talent to offer sketch art as well.
But I cannot.

And true, Animal magic attribute line IS a bit of a filler, but I had other plans that never came to fruition.
I did not include a duration to shapeshifting, mainly because I had this concept done a long time ago, before Factions and the Dervish came with their limited duration Forms. Maybe it would have been interesting so that a shapeshifter would have needed to keep an eye on their timer and when it runs out, their skillbar devoted to the particular form became useless.

We already have, I dunno, a Warrior, an Assassin, a Ranger and an Elementalist.
I'm pretty sure they had a healer in WoW too, so that's the Monk, oh and Rit, ain't them a bit likes the Shaman? So that leaves Mesmer and Necro as the only "original" classes.
Cos you know, WoW's the first one to EVER have any classes in ANY kind of even distantly roleplaying game. The Dervish and Paragon also sound like the Paladin class divided into two. Innit.
I dunno why I even bother, always overestimate humanity. Well, everyone's a moron and I'm no different, lotsa growing up still to go.

And before some other person says, yeah, but why keep copying other games, duh?
Well, if you honestly can come up with something truly unique, then, yeah.
Besides, it's not like anything suggested ever makes it into the game anyways. These forums are more like wishlist to me.

Druids are not related to WoW. If Druids are related to WoW then you can pretty much say the same thing for Warrior and Ranger.

Ok whatever maybe not WoW I've only played that like 3 times, but back when I used to play WC3 I remember there was some unit from the night elf line that was like a druid that could turn into a bear or a hawk and use plant magic.
Anyway I wouldnt want to see a new class of which you can say "If you've seen one, you've seen them all.

Interesting idea. GW really needs a melandru-based caster class. However I'd rename beckoning, sounds a little off for the class to me.

Yeah I kinda agree with puppets. Not counting the core classes which were, well, the basic core classes :P But look at everything else: ritualists, paragon, assasin, dervish. Very unique and seen in almost or no other game. I doubt this will be added
